Specialist in Subnational and Legislative Climate Policy

Carmynie has a master’s degree in Rural Development from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She has a degree in Environmental Management from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS – Porto Alegre campus), with a university extension course in the area of Environmental Law from the Escola Superior de Advocacia da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB/RS). She was the manager of Green Finance at the Sustainable Rural Project – Cerrado Biome of the Brazilian Institute for Development and Sustainability (IABS ); coordinator of the program for Young Sanitation Professionals at the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (ABES ), Rio Grande do Sul section. She taught at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul (UERGS – Tapes Unit) in the discipline of Management of Protected Areas and at the Integrated Technical Course of the Environment at IFRS – Bento Gonçalves campus. At the Brazil Climate Center, she was an institutional manager and an analyst of Advocacy and Climate Justice at the Climate Reality Project Brasil, coordinating paradiplomacy strategies and supporting and promoting policies for climate change.
