Degree and master’s degree in economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in addition to an executive MBA from the Post-Graduate Institute in Business Research (COPPEAD). Economist at the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), which he joined in August 1998, taking on various roles in the social, financial, foreign trade and planning areas. For 6 years he was superintendent of the public and socioenvironmental management area. He was responsible for the Amazon Fund and also for forest restoration projects, innovation in sustainability, conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. He is currently studying for a master’s degree in public policy at UC San Diego, in the United States.
