Maria Eduarda is a lawyer with a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), with an emphasis on State and Society, and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Law from the same university. She was a junior legal analyst in the program of Climate Law and Governance, of the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) Brazil. As a researcher from the group Law, Environment and Justice in the Anthropocene (Juma ), at the Integrated Center for the Environment (Nima ) of PUC-Rio, she was one of those responsible for the development of the Climate Litigation Platform in Brazil. Furthermore, she worked as a rapporteur for the Global Climate Litigation Network of the Sabin Center (Columbia Law School), reviewing Brazilian judicial actions on the Global Climate Change Litigation Database. She also has experience in research about climate change, environmental crimes, environmental justice and the due diligence of human rights.
